From Joe Jackson to Frank Thomas, A Look at the Chicago White Sox, Both Past and Present

John Danks turned out his chance to plays in this years World Baseball Classic. I have to commend the decision and while I really enjoyed the inaugural WBC, I didn’t like what it did to some of the guys (just look at Jake Peavy’s numbers that year). Danks said his obligation was to the White Sox and that while he was honored, he was going to have to pass.
Relief pitcher Matt Thornton, on the other hand, is looking forward to representing his country. Right now he’s on the provisional roster and he’s looking forward to pitching in the classic.
It’s Super Bowl time. I surveyed the office for Super Bowl Predictions and the general consensus is that the Steelers were going to come out on top. Still, I always enjoy playing Super Bowl Squares even if it does mean rooting for an odd, end of quarter field goal to bring home some cash.
