White Sox 3, Naps 1 (4-3)
Frank Smith threw a gem to lead the White Sox to their second straight win. He gave up only four hits and a single and he struck out five in the win.
The White Sox big inning was in the fourth. Fielder Jones led off the inning with a single and moved to second on George Davis’ bunt. Then Jiggs Donahue doubled home Jones to make it 1-0. George Rohe drew a walk and then Rube Vinson singled home Donahue to give the Sox all the runs they’d need. The Naps finally got on the board in the seventh but the White Sox put an insurance run on the board in the bottom half of the inning to put the game away.
Donahue finished the game with a single, a double, a run and an RBI. Vinson had two hits and Billy Sullivan scored the insurance run in the seventh.
