From Joe Jackson to Frank Thomas, A Look at the Chicago White Sox, Both Past and Present

Wow, talk about a turnaround. The initial news had Mark Buerhle missing the first month of the regular season. Now ESPN is reporting that it’s not a fracture, but a “stress reaction,” and that he’ll only be out for a spring start or two. He threw off of a mound today and participated in some workouts.
Jose Contreras had six strikeouts in his six innings of work today. He only gave up three hits and one run, so that’s pretty encouraging. Hopefully the Cuban will be a factor in the rotation for the Sox. Jermaine Dye hit his second homer of the spring in the loss to the Mariners.
