Frank Owen gave up three runs in the eighth inning that ended up costing the White Sox the game. After scoring single runs in the fourth and fifth innings, Owen gave up a single run in the seventh then let the Tigers run all over him in the eighth. Frank Isbell scored in the ninth inning but the rally was cut short by reliever Ed Killian.
Frank Isbell had two of the White Sox six hits and scored one of the three runs. Jiggs Donahue singled, drew a walk and scored a run.
