White Sox 2, Americans 1 (27-25)
The White Sox finished their sweep of the Boston Americans. Nick Altrock not only threw a great game, but he scored the go ahead run in the bottom of the eighth inning. The game was actually scoreless through 7 1/2 innings before the White Sox scored two in the bottom of the eighth. The Americans scored a single run in the top of the ninth, but couldn’t tie the game up.
Altrock gave up one run on nine hits with two strikeouts. Ed Hahn scored the other White Sox run to give the team some much need insurance.
