Pen Blows Game in White Sox Loss

by @ 5:16 pm. Filed under 2007 Season

It’s bad enough that Jon Garland was hit hard for five runs in 5 1/3 but to give up a two run lead is probably even worse.  Three different relievers each gave up a run with Matt Thornton giving up the game winner to blow the game.  That’s 20 runs in two games that White Sox pitchers have given up.

At the plate, Jim Thome and Tad Iguchi both homered.  Thome had three RBIs and two runs and Joe Crede drove in two runs in the 8-7 loss.

The series finale is tomorrow afternoon.  It’s up to Mark Buehrle to right the ship here before things get out of hand.
