From Joe Jackson to Frank Thomas, A Look at the Chicago White Sox, Both Past and Present
[powered by WordPress.]
Trying to win the last game and take the series against the defending champs, the White Sox knew they had a chance with their ace John Danks on the mound. Danks did not disappoint, however, he was out shined by the starter on the other side of the field…Josh Beckett. Danks lasted seven innings and only gave up two hits and two earned runs along with striking out nine. But Beckett lasted eight innings and gave up seven hits but only one earned run and struck out eight. Once Danks left the game the Red Sox batters went off on the Chicago bullpen and scored three runs in the top of the ninth to seal the game and even up the series with two wins a piece. Once again the Sox had more strikeouts in the game, 9, than they did hits, 7. The Sox are now a half game back in the AL Central to the Minnesota Twins. Javier Vazquez takes the mound tonight against AL Central rival the Kansas City Royals as the Sox have a few important games that could put them in a great position heading into the final stretch of the season.
