April 30, 1906 at South Side Park
Tigers 2, White Sox 1 (7-6)
The White Sox lost a tough one in extra frames to the Tigers as they closed out the month of April. The Tigers took the lead in the fourth, but in the sixth, George Davis scored on Jiggs Donahue’s single to left field to make it 1-1.
Ed Walsh was still on the mound in the tenth and he gave up the winning run in that inning. Smith led off with a single and moved to third on Ty Cobb’s double. Then Chris Lindsay hit a ball deep enough to allow Smith to score. The White Sox got the lead off man on the bottom of the tenth, but they failed to even move him over.
Walsh gave up two runs on eleven hits with no walks in ten of innings of work.
