White Sox 6, Tigers 1 (2-2)
The White Sox evened up their record to 2-2 with a strong showing over the Tigers in their home opener. The Sox jumped out to an early two run lead with a pair in the bottom of the first and then didn’t score until the seventh when they added an insurance run. They tacked on three more for good measure in the bottom of the eighth to put the game away.
Nick Altrock gave up only a single run on six hits and a walk. Bill O’Neill doubled and scored two runs and George Davis and Fielder Jones had two hits and a run. Jones was ejected after arguing a play at the plate.
