From Joe Jackson to Frank Thomas, A Look at the Chicago White Sox, Both Past and Present
[powered by WordPress.]
Ten games left. That’s all the White Sox have to make up a 5 1/2 game deficit. Even worse, it’s six games in the loss column. So the White Sox have little margin for error. They might be able to lose one game the rest of the way, but if they don’t go 9-1 in their final ten games, they’re most likely not going to make the playoffs. Heck, even if they do go 9-1 they might not make the playoffs. They have to make up three games over the next seven days and that’s just to enter their season ending series with the Twins three back.
White Sox fans have to have mixed feelings. I know I do. The White Sox came out of nowhere last season and won their first World Series in almost 90 years. They actually have a better team on paper this year and it looks like they’re not even going to be playing meaningful October baseball. While I appreciate what happened last year, it’s tough to take right now.
Next up is a four game series against the Mariners. It’d do or die so nothing short of a sweep will get the job done.

This is beautiful. Finally, all is right with the world. Sox fans and broadcasters deserve nothing but abject disappointment. The Sox have regressed to what they were last year, without the luck. A good team, a 89-win team, but not a great one. Sox fans can now eat shit. 98% of them are fucking assholes. Enjoy watching the playoffs on TV, bitches!
