From Joe Jackson to Frank Thomas, A Look at the Chicago White Sox, Both Past and Present
[powered by WordPress.]
One of my favorite Sox writers, MLB.com beat writer Scott Merkin, answered his mail the other day. The biggest question asked is how Joe Crede got jobbed for the Gold Glove. I know when Derek Jeter won his first (he’s now won three straight) the award turned into kind of a joke but I think Eric Chavez, while a great fielder in his own right, was the third best fielder in the American League. I could have lived with Brandon Inge winning it, but it looks like the voters just made the easy and familiar choice.
He also talks about Tim Raines departure and the chances that the White Sox try to sign Frank Thomas. It’s a solid read as always.
