From Joe Jackson to Frank Thomas, A Look at the Chicago White Sox, Both Past and Present
[powered by WordPress.]
Gio Gonzalez is on the move again as he was one of three White Sox prospects who were dealt to the Athletics for slugger Nick Swisher. This is an interesting move because the White Sox are kind of on the fence in the American League Central. They’re probably still not as good as the Tigers and Indians so why they’d trade three prospects with potential is an interesting move. Still, it gives the Sox a much needed boost to their offense and Swisher should make a solid three hitter to complement Jim Thome and Paul Konerko.
Gio Gonzalez has been on again off again but he would have probably made his debut in 2008. Fautino De Los Santos is another to pitching prospect and then there’s Ryan Sweeney, who has a ton of potential as well. It’s a gutsy move but you had to figure Williams was betting three potential big league players against a known commodity like Swisher.
